How to Get Started

Three simple steps — from sign-up to a live website.

Create a Free Account

Go to webdev.lk and click Get started free. Enter your name, email, and a password. No credit card needed.

Tell Us About Your Site

Answer a few simple questions — your business name, what you do, and what language you want your site in (English, Sinhala, or both).

AI Builds Your Website

Our AI automatically builds and publishes your website within minutes. You'll get a free subdomain like yourname.webdev.lk.

Your site is live automatically. You don't need to do anything technical. Just fill in the details and wait — the AI handles everything.

Section 2

Your Dashboard

After logging in, you'll see your Dashboard. Here's what each section does.

Dashboard (Home)

See your website's current status, a preview link, and quick-action buttons. Start here every time you log in.

Site Changes

Request edits to your website by typing what you want changed — like texting a friend. The AI updates your site automatically.

Maintenance

Control advanced settings — put your site in maintenance mode, update your business details, or change your website language.

Uploads

Upload photos, logos, and documents. Once uploaded, the AI can use them in your website when you request changes.

Profile / Settings

Update your name, email, or password. Also manage your subscription and billing from here.

About Your Site

View your website details — subdomain address, plan type, and when your site was built.

Section 3

Requesting Site Changes

Go to Site Changes in your Dashboard, type what you want, and hit Send. The AI does the rest.

Good Request Examples
  • ✓ "Change my phone number to 0112 345 678"
  • ✓ "Add a new section about our delivery service"
  • ✓ "Make the hero heading say 'Best Bakery in Kandy'"
  • ✓ "Remove the testimonials section"
  • ✓ "Add a Google Maps embed for our Colombo 03 address"
Unclear Requests (avoid these)
  • ✗
    "Make it better" (what specifically?)
  • ✗
    "Change the color" (which section? which color?)
  • ✗
    "You know what to do" (be specific)
Tip: One clear request at a time works best. The AI reads exactly what you write.

Free plan: One change request is processed at a time. If a change is in progress, wait for it to finish before sending the next one. Pro users can queue multiple requests.

Section 4

Uploading Files & Images

Add your own photos and logos so the AI can use them on your website.

How to Upload

Go to Uploads in your Dashboard. Click the upload area or drag and drop files onto it.

Supported File Types

Images: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG
Documents: PDF
Logos work best as PNG with a transparent background.

After Uploading

Go to Site Changes and write: "Use the photo I uploaded called photo-name in the hero section."

File size limit: Each file must be under 10 MB. For large images, reduce their size first using a free tool like squoosh.app before uploading.

Upgrade to Pro

The free plan is a great start. Pro unlocks more power.

How to Subscribe

Go to Pricing page and click Get Pro.

Transfer the monthly amount to our bank account. (Details are shown on the payment page.)

Upload your bank payment slip in the payment section. Our team reviews and activates Pro within a few hours.

You'll receive a confirmation and your Pro features will unlock automatically.

Section 6

Tips for Best Results

✍️

Write in your own language

You can type change requests in Sinhala, English, or a mix. The AI understands both languages equally well.

Wait for changes to finish

After sending a request, the status shows "Working on it…". Don't send another request until it shows "Done". Be patient — AI takes a few minutes.

Upload photos before requesting them

Always go to Uploads first and add your images. Then in Site Changes, mention the file name so the AI knows which photo to use.

Rebuild if the site looks broken

If something looks wrong after a change, go to Maintenance and click Rebuild Site. This resets your site to a clean working state.

After any change, open your website on your phone. Most visitors in Sri Lanka browse on mobile — make sure it looks great there too.

Common Questions

Is my website really free forever?
Yes. The free plan gives you a working website on a webdev.lk subdomain with no time limit. You only pay if you want Pro features like a custom domain or priority support.
How long does a change request take?
Most simple changes take 2–5 minutes. Larger changes (like rebuilding a whole section) may take up to 10 minutes. You can watch the progress bar in the Site Changes tab.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, but only on the Pro plan. Once you upgrade, go to Maintenance → Domain Settings and follow the instructions to connect your domain (e.g., yourbusiness.lk).
What if I am not happy with my website?
Use Site Changes to request exactly what you want — be specific. You can also contact us at 0117 228 328 and we'll help you get the result you want.
Can I switch my site from English to Sinhala or bilingual?
Yes. Go to Maintenance → Site Settings and change the site language. Then go to Site Changes and request a rebuild — the AI will regenerate your site in the new language.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Go to the Login page and click Forgot your password?. Enter your email and you'll receive a reset link.
